Walking For Fun Is Definitely A Thing

Some people walk to lose weight, and some people walk for fun. I can proudly say I am in the latter of that category. For those who don't enjoy walking, however, now is the perfect time to start!

I am what you would call a "walker". Growing up I walked everywhere with my grandma, and running was something I was never about. Exercise in general was something I was never into, but walking was. I could walk for miles, sweat in the summer heat, and not get tired. I might need some water here and there, but I was never worn out.

Quarantining is not pleasurable for me when I sit inside the home all day and do next to nothing- especially when it is 75 degrees out and counting. To get my exercise in for the day and enjoy God's given Earth, I put my run down sneakers on and head to the nearest park (which is pretty big I might add). I love hiking and walking trails, and Atlanta has some within driving distance of my home. This particular park, Medlock Park, not only has walking trails and bridges, but it has plenty of "off-road" trails and railroad tracks (shown below). I love finding hidden treasures in the middle of nowhere.

To save your sanity during this COVID season, have your roommate/boyfriend/pet/etc go walking with you, and make a fun adventure out of the day. It's safer than going to the grocery store or going to work because you're in the wilderness surrounded by you and the people (or animals) you brought with you. Walking outside is social distancing at its finest.

COMMENT BELOW if you enjoy walking as much as I do, and tell me your favorite go-to spots!

As always, stay healthy friends.
